Reviews Lounge publishes buying guides for people who want a straight answer. We pick a brand, work through its entire current range, and explain which product suits which person — including the cases where the answer is “none of these, look elsewhere.”
How we research
Every specification, firmness rating, model number, capacity figure and certification quoted on this site is taken from the manufacturer's own published product information, not from other review sites. Where independent sources contradict a manufacturer's claim, or contradict each other, we say so in the text rather than quietly picking the more flattering number.
We do not claim to lab-test products. What we do is read the actual construction and specification carefully, compare models within a range on a like-for-like basis, and translate that into a recommendation for a specific kind of buyer. Where a figure is disputed or unpublished, the guide says that explicitly.
How we rank
Scores run to one decimal place out of five and are only meaningful within a single guide — a 4.6 in one guide is not comparable to a 4.6 in another, because each range is judged against itself. We weigh:
- Verified construction — what the product is actually made of and how, rather than what the marketing name suggests.
- Fitness for a stated person — a product that is excellent for one buyer and wrong for another scores on how clearly it serves its intended user.
- Durability and certification — materials, build quality and independent certification where it exists.
- Total cost of ownership — what's included, what isn't, and any fees that change the real price.
How we make money
Reviews Lounge earns affiliate commission when a reader buys through a link on this site, at no additional cost to the reader. That revenue funds the research and hosting.
It does not influence what we publish. Brands cannot pay to appear, to rank higher, to have criticism removed or to approve copy before publication. Every guide on this site contains explicit criticism of products we also earn commission on, which is the simplest demonstration of the policy. See the full affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
Specifications and prices change constantly, and we get things wrong like anyone else. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it and note the change.
